Just had a flour recall scare at my shop in Springfield
Last week, my regular supplier called about a batch of all-purpose flour from a specific mill. They said the lot number, 0425-B, might have a small bug issue. I had already used about 15 pounds of it in my morning muffin batter. I had to trash the whole batch, which was over 200 units, and deep clean my entire prep area. It set me back a full day and about $300 in lost product and labor. Has anyone else had to deal with a recall notice like this? How do you handle the sudden ingredient switch mid-production?

Man, that's the universe telling you to take a day off. Free deep clean, courtesy of some tiny unwanted helpers. At least you caught it before serving bug muffins, that's a five star review you definitely dodged. I'd be so mad staring at that trash can full of batter though, what a total waste. Hope your backup flour is behaving itself.

Wait, you actually threw the whole batter out? @tyler492, I would have been picking through it with a spoon... that's so much wasted sugar and eggs. My heart hurts just thinking about it. Guess the bugs won this round.
