I hit 1,000 sourdough loaves sold and it broke my brain a little

I started selling loaves out of my home kitchen 3 years ago just to cover flour costs. Last week I hit 1,000 total sales and honestly it felt way bigger than I expected. That number means I've gone through like 500 pounds of starter discard and probably 2,000 hours of folding and scoring. It's not about the money either since I only make like $2 a loaf after ingredients. What got me was realizing I've fed this many actual families from my tiny apartment oven. Has anyone else tracked a random milestone that hit harder than you thought it would?

Hugo, are you telling me someone actually had 500 pounds of starter sitting around? That sounds like a nightmare in the making. I can't even imagine the amount of flour and water that went into feeding that thing. Did they have a whole separate fridge just for discard? The thought of that much sour, heavy goop gives me the creeps. I bet that kitchen smelled like a brewery mixed with a biology lab.
