Hit 1000 loaves baked this morning and it felt weirdly huge
I keep a little tally on my fridge (just hash marks, nothing fancy) and this morning I hit 1000 exactly. I started baking sourdough back in June 2022 during a rough patch, mostly as something to do with my hands. Didnt realize how many I had churned out until I counted them all up last week. It got me thinking about how a simple number like that can show progress you dont notice day to day. Has anyone else tracked their bake count and been surprised by the total?

Used to roll my eyes at people who tallied things like this, BUT @wyatt_shah85 you're RIGHT - a thousand loaves means that's a THOUSAND mornings of butter and jam and waiting for the timer to go off.

The real interesting part to me is that 1000 mark is basically a full year of daily bakes if you started around that time, but you probably skipped days or gave loaves away. So what does that say about the ones you actually kept and ate? A thousand loaves worth of crust crumbs in your toaster, a thousand morning slices with butter. Numbers like that make you realize how much of your life has been spent just waiting for dough to rise.
