Unpopular opinion: The new guys at the Phoenix hangar keep skipping the full wire harness inspection after a transponder swap.
I've seen three planes come back in the last month for intermittent faults, and every time it's because they didn't check the entire run for chafing against the airframe. It's not just about the LRU connection, you have to look at least 18 inches back. How do you get people to slow down and do the whole job right?

Ugh, is this just how everything is now? It's like people only do the part of the job that's right in front of them. I see it at the coffee shop where they wipe the counter but never the handles on the fridge. Or when a mechanic changes your oil but doesn't top off the washer fluid even though it's on the same checklist. Everyone's in such a rush to mark the task done they miss the point of doing the whole thing right. It's so frustrating because the little skipped steps always cause bigger problems later.

My old boss always said "check the box, not the task" and I never got it until reading @linda_wood's post. Now I see that rush everywhere.
