Spent 4 hours troubleshooting a Garmin GNS 430 that wouldn't power up

Ngl I was ready to pull my hair out last Tuesday at the hangar in Burbank. Turned out it was a corroded pin on the back connector, not the unit itself. Anyone else run into weird power issues that ended up being something simple like that?

Two days? Man, I would have lost my mind. I barely made it four hours before I was ready to throw the whole panel out the hangar door. The corrosion thing is wild because it looks fine until you actually pull the pin out and see that green crust on the back. I had a similar deal with a strobe power supply once, ended up being a broken solder joint you could only see with a magnifying glass. That kind of stuff makes you want to double check every single connection before you ever touch a multimeter again.

Oh man, been there. Found a dead pin on a KX155 once after tearing apart the whole rack. Spent two days chasing a ghost.
