The real danger is the chemical smoke from burning insulation, not just the flames. That stuff can ruin sensitive electronics in the whole building.

'Small workshop fire' sounds serious, but it's probably exaggerated. These wire recycling attempts often just make a bit of smoke. It's not worth freaking out over.
