Just realized I was wrong about swapping wire connectors mid-job
I was out at KMDH airport last Tuesday working on a King KX 165 nav radio swap. Had a bunch of old D-sub pins that were crusty and I kept swapping them out one by one cause I thought it was faster. After three pins in, I got a short that fried the power line on the backshell. Had to stop everything and redo the whole harness. Now I just pull the whole connector, replace all pins at once, and test continuity before plugging back in. Anyone else deal with that kind of shortcut backfiring?

That "faster" shortcut got me too, fried a whole display unit once.
