Hit 3,000 LRU changes in a single year and my lower back is demanding a recount
After tallying my logbook for the fiscal year I found I swapped 3,047 line replaceable units in 11 months, which is way more than the 1,200 I averaged at my old shop, and I'm wondering if anyone else's annual count has jumped that dramatically with newer aircraft or am I just getting stuck with all the garbage shifts?

Did you ever track your numbers before and see how much of a difference the aircraft type makes? I used to think swapping parts was just swapping parts, but seeing your jump from 1,200 to over 3,000 really changed my mind about how much the plane design and maintenance load can wear you down.

Yeah you gotta watch your body mechanics on those heavy days, I learned that the hard way after a string of 12 hour shifts left me hobbling. Try switching up your stance and using a lifting belt for the bigger units, it helps spread the load so your lower back isn't taking all the punishment. Also check if your maintenance stand has a height adjustment, getting the panel at waist level instead of bending over made a huge difference for me.
