Cannon plug pin extraction, am I the only one doing it the slow way?

Was pulling pins on a 50-pin cannon plug in the hangar in Tulsa last month and realized I'd been using the wrong extraction tool angle for like 7 years, bending the pins and cursing every time. A senior guy walked by, flipped my tool 90 degrees, and the pin slid out like butter, made me rethink all my old harness repairs. Anyone else have a basic task where a small tweak from someone who knew better completely changed how you work?

Tulsa's humid hangar air probably had those pins corroded anyway, so your angle was fine and the old guy just got lucky with a cleaner connector. Ten years of harness work taught me that forcing pins out at any angle is a waste of time when a proper puller and a little heat solves it every time.
