Appreciation post: The pilot in Denver who called our nav system 'possessed'

I was doing a post-install check on a Garmin GTN 750 in a King Air last month, and the pilot walked by saying his heading kept drifting like the box had a ghost. Turns out he'd left his personal iPad, with its own GPS, right on top of the unit's antenna during his pre-flight. Moved the tablet, problem vanished. How often do we chase a 'fault' that's just something silly in the way? Ever had a weird interference story that made you feel a bit silly?

Ever think those old guys were nuts for hating electronics in the cockpit? This kind of stuff makes me get it now.

Right? I had a similar thing happen with my phone and my car keys. Keeping them in separate pockets fixed it, no more weird glitches.

Yeah that "ghost" thing is a perfect example. I mean, @jade738 has a point, it's like how my wifi dies if I put the router near the microwave. So much weird stuff is just simple clutter in the way.
