Appreciation post: The new wiring diagrams from Boeing on the 787 are a game changer
Six months ago, I was tracing a fault on a comms bus and the old PDF schematics were a mess of overlapping lines. Last week, I got the same job and the updated interactive diagrams let me click on a component and highlight its entire circuit path. It cut my troubleshooting time from maybe three hours down to about forty minutes. Anyone else had a good experience with these new digital manuals?

And @joseph_roberts is right, it makes you wonder why this kind of thinking doesn't show up more in regular life. I feel like everywhere I look, someone designed a thing to just barely work instead of making it actually easy to use. The Boeing manuals finally got the message, but my bank's app and the thermostat at home are still stuck in the old way.

Yeah, that click to highlight feature is a total lifesaver. I used it last month to chase down a phantom power drain on an IFE seat box. Instead of squinting at a dozen cross pages, it just showed me the whole run in one color. Makes you wonder why all the manuals weren't like this years ago.

Wait, wasn't that feature actually added like five years ago? I remember using it on the old system.
