Why does nobody mention the 30 day window on aftermarket plans before you file?
I bought a 4 year plan on my Silverado through a dealer in Reno and figured I had plenty of time to read the fine print, then my water pump went at 11 months and they flagged the claim because I skipped the required oil change receipts. Cost me $890 out of pocket and a week of arguing. Did your plan make you submit maintenance records before the first claim, or was it just mine?
The 30 day thing and the maintenance records thing are actually two different rules, so mixing them up might be why nobody warned you right. Most of those plans give you a window at the start to cancel, but the oil change receipts are a whole separate deal that can bite you at any time. Your $890 loss was really about proof of upkeep, not the 30 days.
