Why does no one talk about warranty coverage for older diesel trucks?

My buddy in Tulsa who rebuilds Cummins engines told me last Saturday that most aftermarket plans won't touch anything past 150k miles, and it got me thinking about how my 2006 F-350 has been running fine without one for 4 years, so has anyone else just stopped paying for extended coverage once the truck hit high mileage?
