Showerthought: I finally read my own warranty paperwork after 4 years and found out I was covered the whole time
So for almost 4 years I kept buying the extra tire and wheel coverage at the dealer every single time, like $700 a pop, because I was sure my factory warranty did not cover road hazards. Last month my wife got a flat on I-35 outside Waco and I almost paid out of pocket again until she asked me to just check the booklet in the glovebox. Turns out the factory coverage had tire and wheel protection built in the whole time and I had been double paying like a chump. I called the finance guy and he got real quiet when I asked why nobody mentioned that at signing. I went back through my old contracts and added it up, I have lit about $2,800 on fire over the years for coverage I already had. My advice is dont trust what the guy in the back office tells you, read the actual paperwork yourself even if it takes an hour, and ask for the exclusion list in writing. So what did your dealer add on that you later found out was already included?
