Serious question, transmission shop pushed a 3rd party warranty on me and now they won't pay out for a rebuild

My 2014 F-150 started slipping in 3rd gear back in February. Took it to a shop in Phoenix, they sold me a $2,100 warranty from some company called ShieldGuard. After 2 months of runaround they denied my claim saying it was 'pre-existing wear.' I only bought the truck 6 months earlier. Anyone else get burned by these third party warranty outfits that shops push on you?

Those third party warranties are basically legalized gambling.
