My 2004 Camry threw a rod on I-75 at 7am on a Tuesday last month

I had just paid 1,200 bucks for a 3 year extended warranty through the dealer 6 weeks earlier and when I called them from the shoulder they told me the policy didn't cover anything related to the engine block, so now I'm sitting here wondering if anyone else has gotten burned by those fine print exclusions on drivetrain coverage?

Same thing happened with my Subaru warranty. Total scam, covered nothing useful.

Did you ever try to actually use the fine print, or did it just feel like a total gamble like mine? I swear by the time I read through the exclusions list, my eyes glazed over and I needed a nap. My roads blew up a sensor in the transmission, and the dealer laughed and said "good luck with that." Turns out a "covered" issue required a full engine tear-down just to prove it wasn't from my "abusive" driving. Lesson learned - I'd rather just save that money for a real repair fund than play roulette with a warranty again.
