Extended warranties are a waste for most people
I used to buy the extended warranty on every used car I got, thinking it was peace of mind. But after paying $1,800 for a plan on a 2015 Honda Civic and then the water pump failed 3 months later, the dealer found a way to deny the claim on a technicality. Now I just put that money into a savings account instead. Has anyone else had a warranty claim denied for something small like a missing oil change receipt?

Haven't you ever had a warranty actually save you on a big repair? My friend got a 2018 Subaru and the CVT blew at 45k miles. The extended warranty paid for a whole new transmission, which would have been like 7 grand out of pocket. I get being burned on a claim is frustrating, but it's more about picking the right plan from a reputable company. A lot of those dealer warranties are shady, but ones direct from the manufacturer can be solid.
