Dealer said my bumper-to-bumper was void, read the fine print myself
Last month my AC compressor died at 34k miles and the dealer in Columbus tried to tell me my warranty was void because I had a cold air intake installed. They quoted me $1,150 for the fix. I went home, found the actual warranty PDF online, and it only excludes parts directly affected by aftermarket mods. The compressor had nothing to do with intake airflow. I emailed the warranty administrator with that section highlighted and they approved the claim in 2 days. Has anyone else caught a dealer trying to deny coverage on unrelated mods? What did you do next?
bro my buddy had the exact same thing happen with his tuner, dealership tried to blame his CAI for a burnt up radiator fan motor. dude just printed the same clause from the magnuson-moss warranty act and they shut up real quick. you did it right, sometimes you just gotta call their bluff and go over their head to corporate.
