Vent: the $18 'as is' turntable from the flea market ate my weekend
Seller swore it just needed a belt, but the platter bearing was shot and the motor ran 4 percent slow, so now I'm into it for $60 in parts and it still wobbles. Should I keep sinking money into this thing or just part it out and eat the loss?
Been there, my own "just needs a belt" graveyard in the garage could open a museum. The trick is figuring out if that wobble is a bent spindle or just a tired bearing, because one is a cheap fix and the other is a money pit with no bottom. If it were me I'd part it out now and put the $60 toward something with a platter that spins true, but your call.
