Talking to a CRT repair guy in Ohio changed how I store my gear

He said the worst thing for old electronics is stacking them tight, cause heat and vibration kill caps way faster than dust. I had 4 receivers and 2 turntables on one shelf for like 6 years, now I'm spacing them out with foam pads. Anyone else noticing gear dying faster when it's cramped together?
