Still prefer manual focus after 3 years of trying autofocus on my film cameras

I switched to an autofocus Nikon N80 back in February because everyone says it's faster, but I miss nailing focus myself on my old Pentax K1000. Does anyone else find autofocus misses on low contrast scenes more often than your thumb just gets it right the first time?

Does the N80 let you switch to manual focus in tricky light, or are you stuck in autofocus only mode?

Thought I was a die-hard manual focus guy too, but @mason_foster68, the N80 has a handy switch that lets you go manual anytime, and that actually made me appreciate autofocus more for quick shots. I used to think autofocus was just for lazy people, but after using it in good light for everyday grab shots, I realized it saves me time without sacrificing control. I still grab my K1000 when I want to slow down, but the N80 taught me both tools have their place.
