Spent 2 years loading my film camera wrong without knowing it

I was at a camera swap meet in Austin last Saturday and a guy looked at my Minolta and asked why the rewind knob was loose. Turned out I had been loading the film with the leader sticking out the wrong side of the take-up spool the whole time. Anyone else find out they were doing something basic incorrectly for way too long?

Haha oh man that hurts. I bought a used Nikon F2 years ago and shot three whole rolls before I realized the mirror lockup was engaged the whole time. Just black frames.

Oh man that reminds me of the time I left a lens cap on for a whole day of shooting.
