PSA: My Polaroid SX-70 went from blurry to sharp after I swapped the roller assembly
I picked up a beat up SX-70 at a thrift in Portland three months ago and the photos always came out with these weird streaks and soft spots. After I swapped the old rollers for a set from a 1987 model I found on eBay for $12, the difference is wild. The originals had this dried goo buildup that must have been pressing unevenly for decades. Anyone else notice how much a worn roller can mess with film ejection or am I overthinking this?

Did you check if the replacement rollers had a different texture or hardness compared to the old ones? I've messed with a few SX-70s and noticed the later models had a slightly softer rubber that seems to grab the film better. That dried goo you mention is brutal though, I've scraped it off with a plastic spudger before and it never fully comes clean. What specific trick did you use to get the old rollers out without cracking the plastic housing?
