Found a whole bin of orphaned lenses at a pawn shop in Tucson

Stopped by this dusty pawn shop off Speedway looking for a cheap DVD player and spotted a cracked glass case full of random camera lenses. Most were busted or missing rear caps, but there was a 50mm f1.8 with a stuck aperture ring and a smudge on the front element that looked cleanable. I haggled down to 15 bucks because the guy said nobody's touched it in 6 months. Has anyone else had luck rescuing glass from pawn shops, or is it mostly junk with hidden fungus?
