Drove 90 minutes to grab a $25 Trinitron off Marketplace and it rained the whole way home
Saw a listing pop up Saturday morning for a 27 inch Trinitron, guy in a town about 90 minutes out wanted 25 bucks for it. I've been hunting a decent CRT for my NES setup for months and every one near me is either trashed or the seller wants 200 because they saw one sell high somewhere. So I grabbed my buddy's truck and went. Thing was in great shape, barely any wear on the tube, came with the original remote even. Loaded it in the bed and it started sprinkling about 20 minutes into the drive back, then it just opened up. I had one tarp and it was way too small so I'm pulled over on the shoulder in the rain wrapping this 60 pound TV in a moving blanket I keep behind the seat. Got home soaked, dried it off, plugged it in and let it sit for a couple hours before powering on because I was scared of moisture. Been playing it all week and the picture is unreal, scanlines look exactly how I remember. Anyone else transport a tube in bad weather and did you do anything special before turning it on?
