CRT TV from 1987 still works, but my 5 year old laptop is already dead

I was cleaning out my parents' basement last weekend and found our old 19 inch RCA CRT TV from 1987. Plugged it in and it turned on perfectly, picture looks fine, no ghosting or anything. Makes me wonder why modern electronics give out after a few years when stuff from 40 years ago still runs like new.

Found my dad's old flip phone in a drawer. Still had a charge and everything.

Did @paule53 find any old pics on it? My buddy found his mom's old Razr and it still had a pic of her dog.
