Always thought vinyl was overhyped until I played a 1980 press of Rumours vs the Spotify stream

My buddy brought over his old copy last weekend and we A/B tested it on his Technics SL-1200. The warmth on the high end in Dreams was night and day, I totally get the hype now. Has anyone else had a moment like that where a specific record changed your mind?

Spent a whole afternoon comparing my dad's Beatles records to the digital versions and felt like my ears had been lying to me for years. Now I can't unhear how flat the streaming files sound on some of those classic drums and vocals. Guess my wallet is about to hate me for this new hobby.

Used to think the vinyl hype was just nostalgia goggles, but you're making me rethink that. Might have to borrow my dad's turntable this weekend and see if I hear what you're hearing.
