Vent: wasted $50 on a 'air fryer cookbook' that just told me to shake the basket
Bought it at a Barnes & Noble in Toledo two weeks ago thinking it would have real recipes, but half the pages say things like 'season chicken, cook at 380 for 18 minutes.' The one actual tip in there, parboiling potatoes before frying, I already saw on a free YouTube short. What cookbooks are actually worth picking up for this thing?
Ngl this is the same scam as those "instant pot bible" books that are just a hundred pages of "add water, press button." Publishers know people buy a gadget then panic and want a book to go with it, so they crank out these thin cash grabs with a nice cover. A good rule is if the book has more than like 20 chicken recipes in a row, it's filler, not cooking. For air fryers specifically you're better off with one solid book from a test kitchen crew that actually explains why things work, like why you pat stuff dry or leave space around the food. Everything else is just a google search printed on paper.
