Tried making chicken wings in my air fryer at 400 for 25 minutes and got a smoke alarm symphony
I followed a recipe from a blog that said 400 degrees for 25 minutes would give me crispy wings, but after 15 minutes my kitchen filled with smoke and the alarm went off. Had to open all windows and stand there fanning the detector like an idiot. Anyone else have their air fryer crank out way more smoke than expected for wings?

Thing is, this is totally part of that whole "recipes are lying to us" trend I've noticed. Like, every blog wants you to believe you can blast wings at max temp and get magic with no mess, but nobody talks about how your specific air fryer is basically a tiny smoke factory compared to a full oven. I've had the same thing happen with salmon, where the recipe said 10 minutes at 400 and I got a kitchen that looked like a fog machine went off. Feels like half these food blogs are written by people who never actually cooked in a normal apartment with normal ventilation, you know? They just copy each other's numbers and hope it works out.

You ever read that one test where they compared the same recipe across six different air fryers and got six totally different cook times? That pretty much explains everything right there.
