The day I stopped crowding my air fryer basket
I used to just pile chicken thighs in there thinking more fit meant more food. Then a buddy saw me doing it and said 'you're basically steaming them, not crisping them' and I realized I'd been doing it wrong for like 2 years. Has anyone else had that moment where you just didn't think about air flow?

Make sure you leave at least an inch of space between pieces so the hot air can actually move around. I learned the hard way that crowding the basket just traps moisture and you end up with soggy food instead of that crispy exterior. Best trick I picked up was cooking in batches even if it takes a little longer, the texture difference is totally worth it.

Oh man, I learned that one the hard way too! I used to just dump a whole bag of frozen fries in there and wonder why they came out limp and sad. Now I do my chicken wings in two batches and they actually get that crunchy skin instead of steaming in their own juices. The extra five minutes of waiting is totally worth it when you bite into something that actually feels fried. Have you tried shaking the basket halfway through too, or just leaving them be?

Yeah shaking the basket halfway through is key, I do it with everything now and it makes a huge difference.
