Switched from deep frying wings to air frying them and I'm still not sure if it's worth the tradeoff

I used to do wings in a big pot of oil every Sunday during football season, but after burning my arm with a splash back in October I bought an air fryer. Now the wings come out crispy but they just don't have that same greasy, indulgent flavor that made them feel like a treat. Has anyone else struggled with missing that deep fried taste even when the air fryer does a decent job?

@smith.ray gave good advice. I toss mine in a little bacon grease right after cooking.

I had the same problem when I first got an air fryer two years ago. Have you tried tossing the wings in a tablespoon of butter or duck fat right after they come out? That extra bit of fat seems to bring back some of that heavy taste without the deep fry mess. Also, what temperature are you running them at? I found 400 degrees for 12 minutes, then flipping for another 8 gives a better crunch than lower settings.
