Shoutout to the $12 copper scrubber pad that saved my air fryer basket

I was about to toss my Ninja basket after 8 weeks of baked on chicken grease that no soak would touch. A guy at the restaurant supply store on 5th Street handed me a $12 copper scrubber pad and said the steel wool was scratching the coating and making it worse. Two minutes of light scrubbing and the basket looks close to new, no flakes, no scratches. Has anyone else had coating peel off from the wrong scrubber, and did you keep using the basket after?
