Noticed a ton of air fryers at my local resale shop last weekend

I went to the Goodwill in Marietta on Saturday and saw like 8 different air fryers on the shelf, all between $12 and $25. Half of them still had the little plastic knob covers on the handle, so they looked barely used. Is there something about air fryers that makes people give up on them faster than other kitchen gadgets?

That thing about the plastic knob covers is wild, it really makes you wonder. I think a lot of people buy air fryers because they see all the hype online, then they realize it's just a small, loud oven that takes up counter space and they don't want to learn the timing for different foods. My neighbor bought one last year, used it twice for frozen fries, and now it's sitting in her garage next to a bread machine she also gave up on. You ask if people give up on them faster, and honestly, I bet it's because they expect it to cook everything perfect with zero effort, but you still have to shake the basket and watch it. Have you noticed if the resale shops are also full of those mini waffle makers people bought during the pandemic?

Those 8 air fryers at that Marietta Goodwill don't surprise me one bit, I bet half of them were the same brand too. People see the hype on social media and buy one without realizing you still gotta shake the basket halfway through and adjust times for different foods, which is a pain. It's like those mini waffle makers you mentioned, people buy them for the novelty, use them twice, then realize they take up counter space for something they barely touch.
