My air fryer just saved a disastrous Tuesday dinner...

I forgot to thaw the chicken, so I tossed the frozen pieces in for 25 minutes with some oil and seasoning. Came out perfectly crispy when I was sure we'd be ordering pizza.

My old Kenmore air fryer gave me a false sense of security for a while. I tried the frozen chicken thing once and the outside was burnt while the inside was still icy near the bone. I had to finish it in the microwave, which made the skin soggy. I just don't trust it for frozen meat anymore, I always thaw first.

That sounds like a rough experience, @the_henry, but maybe the problem was that specific Kenmore model. My basic off-brand one handles frozen chicken strips or meatballs just fine if I drop the temp and add a few extra minutes. It seems like a machine-by-machine thing, not a total rule against frozen food. You just have to play with the settings a bit.
