Went back to leaf springs on my old Tacoma after 3 years of coils
I swapped in a full Alcan leaf pack last month thinking it'd be a downgrade. Rides way better on washboard roads and I don't have to worry about bump steer anymore. Has anyone else gone backwards on their suspension setup?

...and now my buddy's trying to convince me air bags on an '85 4x4 van is a good idea.

@paige_ellis59 tried stock leafs and hated them, air bags level a van loaded for camping way better.

Honestly that Alcan pack sounds like a solid choice for washboard stuff. I switched back to stock leafs on my 4Runner after two years with coils and it was such a relief. The coils were great on pavement but offroad they just felt harsh and twitchy compared to the old leaf setup. Ngl I love not having to worry about axle wrap or bump steer anymore either. Glad I'm not the only one who thinks leaf springs get too much hate.
