Vent: Took me 3 weekends to dial in my leaf spring shackle angle
I swapped to a new set of rear leaf springs on my F-150 (2011 model) and thought it would be a simple afternoon job. First weekend, I bolted everything up with the stock shackles but the truck sat too tall and rode like a log wagon. Second Saturday, I bought some longer shackles from a local shop in Denver, but then the pinion angle got all messed up and I had vibes at 45 mph. Finally last weekend I pulled the whole axle again, added some tapered shims, and got the shackle angle right around 45 degrees - total of about 18 hours of work for something I read would take 4. Has anyone else spent way too long chasing suspension geometry?
