Took my new front bumper off after one trip because I didn't check clearance

Last month I put this steel bumper on my '97 Tacoma. Looked mean, had the bull bar, all that. First time I took it out to some trails near my place, I got high centered on a rock that I used to crawl right over. Gouged the hell out of the skid. I had to winch off the rock and it was a whole thing. Now the bumper is sitting in my garage and I'm back to the stock one. Anyone else ever toss money at a build part only to realize it messes with your approach angle?

You got high centered on a rock. That's a clearance issue, not approach angle.
