That one week my front diff grenaded on the trail near Moab

I was running Poison Spider Mesa last spring and the whole front end just let go with a bang... shredded the ring and pinion into about 20 pieces. Cost me $1,800 to get towed back to town and find a shop that could swap in a new third member. Has anyone else had a diff go out on a moderate trail like that or was I just unlucky?

I blew my front diff on Fins and Things about three years ago, same thing everything just shattered into pieces. $2,200 later and a 12 hour wait for a tow, did you hit the same rock I did or just throttle it too hard?

Lowering tire pressure a bit and feathering the throttle instead of gunning it saved my diff on similar trails. Your mileage may vary but going easy on the skinny pedal works for me.
