That guy at Moab who told me lockers are a crutch
Ran into this dude at the Poison Spider trailhead last spring. He saw my front locker switch and started lecturing me about how real drivers use line choice and throttle control. Said lockers just mask bad driving. I asked him how many times he'd been stuck. He said 'never with a locker.' I just laughed and walked away.

People like that are exhausting. I've run into the same type on the Rubicon, guys who act like using the tools on your rig is cheating. My buddy runs 35s with open diffs and gets stuck all the time, meanwhile I'll take my lunch and eat it while watching him try to recover with just "throttle control." You handled it perfectly just laughing and walking away, no point in arguing with someone who already has all the answers.

Three friends I know run lockers front and rear on their Jeeps and still manage to get stuck in ridiculous spots. @blairj55 hit it - the whole "lockers are cheating" thing is just gatekeeping nonsense. I've seen guys with open diffs and "perfect line choice" spend 45 minutes winching through a simple ledge that a lunchbox locker would have crawled over without blinking. If the tool is bolted to your axle from the factory or the parts store, use it. Nobody gives out trophies for driving the hardest possible way on purpose.
