Stop using air lockers if you never air down

Been wheeling my TJ for about 4 years now and I keep seeing guys drop $1,200 on ARBs then run 35 psi on the trail. I did the same thing last fall on a trip to Moab and snapped a front axle shaft on Hell's Gate because the tires were bouncing like basketballs. Lockers dont fix bad tire pressure, they just make the weak link break faster. Since I dropped to 12 psi and skipped the locker, I've crawled stuff that used to give me trouble. Anyone else learn this the hard way or is my local group just special?

Wait, are you saying you're running open diffs with 12 psi and it's doing better than locked at 35? What kind of terrain are you on, mostly rock or more mixed stuff?
