Shoutout to the guy at the tire shop in Boise who set me straight on load range
I was all set to buy load range E tires for my Ranger build because I figured heavier duty meant tougher, but the guy behind the counter pulled up a chart and showed me E tires are rated for like 80 psi while my truck wants 35. He said running them that far under pressure just makes the sidewall stiff and the contact patch weird, and honestly the math made sense for a truck that weighs under 4,000 lbs. Does anyone here actually run E range on a light rig and feel like it was worth it, or did I get talked out of a good thing?
