My front driveshaft angle hit 24 degrees after the lift and I caught it before the u-joints gave out
I put a 4 inch lift on my 2011 Tacoma in the garage 6 months ago and finally got around to checking the driveshaft angle with a cheap angle finder last Saturday. It came out to 24 degrees at the transfer case end, way past the 15 degrees most guys say is safe, and I could see the u-joint was already starting to show wear. If you lifted your truck and never checked the pinion angle, go look at it this weekend before a $40 u-joint turns into a $600 driveshaft rebuild. What angle are you guys running with a CV shaft up front?
