My buddy's Tacoma build made me question my whole suspension setup

Been running a 3 inch lift with those cheap spacers on my Jeep for 2 years. Last weekend my buddy Dan took me out in his Tacoma, he's got some proper coilovers and actually cut his fenders instead of just cranking the bump stops. He asked me flat out, what are you actually trying to do with this rig? I said mud and rocks. He laughed and showed me how my articulation was basically garbage because I never touched the control arms or sway bar. That hit different because I spent $600 on that lift kit thinking I was done. Now I'm looking at rebuilding the whole front end with real shocks and adjustable arms. Has anyone else run cheap spacers then went to a full coilover setup, did you notice a huge difference off road or was it mostly on the highway?
