I finally checked the torque on my own suspension bolts after 10 years

Found out that my front control arm bolts were 15 ft-lbs under spec when I measured them with a borrowed torque wrench last weekend. Has anyone else ever been surprised by how loose their own stuff got after a few winters of road salt and dirt?

Did you use any anti-seize when you reinstalled them?

Pfft, anti-seize on brakes is overrated. Most people just glob it on everything without thinking, then it gets all over the rotors and pads and ruins the stopping power anyway. If you torque stuff right and let the rust work for you, it actually holds the rotor on tighter and stops it from warping.

That reminds me of the time I did brakes on my old truck without any anti-seize and had to use a torch to get the rotors off a year later... never again.
