Got burned by a $40 winch remote, wired switch saved my tailgate party

Last month I bought a cheap wireless winch remote off Amazon to control my bumper winch. It worked twice, then started glitching mid pull and nearly dropped a buddy's Jeep onto a tree stump. I ripped it out and spent 15 bucks on a simple wired switch with a long coil cord, mounted it to the fender. The cable is ugly but it never fails, and I can actually feel the click when I engage it. Anyone else ditched wireless for wired after a scare like that?
