Dropped $340 on a "bolt-on" lift kit for my Tacoma and I'm here to warn you
Figured I'd save a few bucks and grabbed one of those spacer lift kits online for my 2016 Tacoma, $340 shipped to my door in Cheyenne. Took me and a buddy a full Saturday to get it in, and right away the truck sat weird, nose high and stiff as a board. Two months later my CV boots started leaking and the shop quoted me $900 to fix what the spacers messed up. Turns out the cheap kit put my angles all out of whack and the ride on washboard roads was brutal enough that my wife refused to ride in it anymore. I ended up pulling the whole thing back out and putting that money toward a proper coilover setup, which cost way more but actually works right. If you're thinking about the budget spacer route on an IFS truck, just know the cheap part is only the start of the bill. Anyone here run spacers long term without problems, or did they bite you the same way?
