Bought a cheap recovery strap off Amazon expecting it to snap... still going strong after 8 pulls
I figured a $20 strap would tear on the first real tug but I've yanked out three stuck trucks in the mud and it holds up fine. Anyone else had luck with the bargain bin gear?

Yeah that's the thing with budget recovery gear, sometimes you get lucky (I've had a $15 strap outlast a name brand one) and I swear it's just inconsistent quality control more than anything.

@adam_robinson that "inconsistent quality control" part hits the nail on the head. Have you ever actually cut open a cheap strap to see if the stitching is as bad as it looks from the outside, or is that just me being paranoid?
