Appreciation post: the $40 junk winch on my trailer finally taught me to read the label, not the price
Pulled it apart last Saturday in my garage in Tucson after it froze up on a dirt road, and the gear oil inside was the same black sludge I had been topping off for 2 years, which is when it hit me that the manual listed a fill level I had been ignoring the whole time, so has anyone else cooked a cheap winch just by never checking the fluid?
