A friend in Flagstaff said my winch setup was a 'trip hazard' waiting to happen, so I moved the control box inside the cab.
Has anyone else found a better spot for a Warn VR EVO 10-S's solenoid pack on a 3rd gen Tacoma without drilling new holes?

That's a classic case of someone inventing a problem to sound smart, like wright.luna said. People do that all the time with gear, pointing out tiny "flaws" nobody actually deals with. The factory spot works fine if you just walk around your own truck.

Honestly, calling a winch setup a trip hazard sounds like someone looking for problems. I left my solenoid pack right on the bumper where Warn put it, and I've never once caught a boot on it. Moving it inside just seems like a fix for a problem that doesn't exist, plus you're running more cable into the cab. The factory location is fine.

You said "the factory location is fine" and you're absolutely RIGHT. I ran my solenoid pack on the bumper for YEARS on my old TJ before I ever even THOUGHT about moving it. Not once did I trip over it, and I'm clumsy as all get out. People just love to overthink these things. @wright.luna, your setup sounds solid. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I only moved mine inside later because I wanted to clean up the engine bay for a show, but honestly that was just a cosmetic choice, not a safety one.
