Insulation debate: is rockwool really worth double the price of fiberglass?

I spent years stuffing fiberglass batts in my tiny house walls because it was cheap. Then last winter my heating bill hit $180 for a 200 sqft space, and a buddy who used rockwool said his was half that. Has anyone actually tested both and seen a real difference?

yeah I used to be all about fiberglass too because it was cheap and I figured insulation is insulation right? then I helped my brother reno his attic and we used rockwool there and I felt the difference immediately. it's denser and way easier to cut without itching like crazy. but the real sell for me was my buddy who did a side by side test in two identical sheds same heating setup and the rockwool one stayed warmer longer with lower bills. I still think fiberglass has its place if you're on a tight budget but for something like a tiny house where every bit of efficiency counts the extra cost for rockwool seems worth it now. especially if you care about sound deadening too because that stuff is way better for blocking noise.

ugh that side by side shed test is exactly the kind of proof that sticks with you. people can argue all day about specs but seeing real results like that is hard to argue with. I've been on the fence about ripping out my old fiberglass and switching over but stories like this keep nudging me closer. also good to hear someone else mention the sound thing because that's a huge bonus most people overlook until they're living with it.
